Open your studio

Iryna has taught yoga in a rented hall for years and is opening a small studio of her own. She wants a timetable her clients can book from their phones, without a spreadsheet and a chat full of "is there a place tonight?". She signs in to Grupy, answers five questions and lands in Set up, with an empty studio and a list of what to fill in next.

Step by step

1. Sign in. Tap Open your studio at the bottom of this page, or Create a studio under Own a fitness studio? at the foot of the studio search. New to Grupy? Tap I do not have an account, then Create an account. See Sign in to Grupy.
2. Fill in Start a studio. It asks five things, and nothing else yet:
   • What it is called — your studio’s name.
   • Its address — the last part of your link: grupy.fit/ and this address. Grupy suggests one from the name, and you can change it. It goes on posters and into messages, so choose with care: it is hard to change later.
   • Country — Choose a country. It sets the clock and the currency below, and which ways of being paid you are offered. Set up does not ask for it again.
   • Where it is — the studio’s time zone, set from the country you chose; the same list as in Details. Class times are always shown in the studio’s clock, wherever a client reads them.
   • What you charge in — the currency.
3. Tap Create the studio. You go straight to Set up, as the studio’s owner. Your tabs are Today, Timetable, People, Money and Studio.
4. Work down Set up. Each row says where it stands, so you can see at a glance what is still empty. A good order for a new studio:
   • Details — address, contacts, logo and cover. See Your studio page, address and QR code.
   • Classes — what you teach. See Class types.
   • Passes — what clients buy. See Passes and prices.
   • Payments — how you are paid. See Take payments.
   • Cancellation — until when cancelling is free. See Cancellation rules.
   • Team — invite your trainers. See Your team.
   • Timetable — the week, published from a date. See Build the timetable.
5. Come back to it any time. Open the Studio tab and tap Set up under your studio’s name.

Good to know

• You are on the team yourself, as Owner, so you can put yourself down to teach classes.
• Open Payments before you sell anything, even if the row already names a provider — a new studio can start on one with no key saved yet: choose who takes the money and check it works.
• A new studio is shown in the studio search for its country. To stay out of it while you prepare, open In the directory and switch off Show in the directory. Your link, your page and every booking keep working.
• The time zone and the currency can be changed later in Details. The currency stays fixed once the studio has been paid for anything.
• The name and the address can be changed at most once in seven days, and the old link keeps leading to the new one.
