Class types
Oksana's Pilates studio teaches mat Pilates, reformer and a gentle stretching class, several times a week each. Before she builds a timetable, she tells Grupy once what each class is: its colour, how long it lasts, what a newcomer should expect and what a single visit costs. Every slot on the timetable then points back to it.
Step by step
Section titled “Step by step”- Open Set up → Classes. Grupy calls a class type simply a class: this list is what you teach, and the timetable says when. Tap New class; a new studio sees No classes yet and the same button.
- Name it. Name is what clients read on the timetable and your studio page, such as Mat Pilates or Reformer for beginners.
- Pick a colour. Under Colour, choose one. The class wears it on the timetable and on its card, so similar classes are easier to tell apart at a glance.
- Set the length and the minimum. Minutes is how long the class lasts; a new slot on the timetable starts at it. Fewest people it runs for is what every slot of this class uses unless the timetable sets its own; leave it blank if any number will do.
- Say what it is. What it is is a sentence or two for somebody who has never been: the level, the pace, what to bring. It shows on the class’s card under What we teach on your studio page. Under Picture, tap Choose a picture for that card.
- Price a single visit, if you sell one. One visit, without a pass is the price of one class without a pass. Leave it blank if you do not sell it that way. When a client needs a pass for this class, the single visit is offered beside your passes as Just this class.
- Offer it one-to-one, if you do. Switch on Can be booked one-to-one and fill in On their own (one person) and Each, in a pair (the price per person when two come together). Leave the pair price blank to offer it to one person only.
- Tap Save. Class saved. The list shows each class with its colour and length.
To change a class later, tap it in the list, or tap its card on the Studio tab and then Edit. Delete this class sits behind More, and asks before it acts.
How classes connect to the rest
Section titled “How classes connect to the rest”- Timetable: each slot uses one of your classes and has its own Length in minutes (starting at the class’s Minutes), Places and Fewest people it runs for (blank uses the class’s own), set when you add it. See Build the timetable.
- Passes: under What it covers you tick the classes a pass is good for. See Passes and prices.
- Events: a one-off class also takes a class, so a workshop needs one of its own. See One-off classes and events.
- One-to-ones: a trainer can be booked for this class when it is among the classes they teach and it has a price. A trainer’s own price under What I charge wins over yours. See Set your hours for one-to-ones.
