When a class is full: the waiting list

Iryna's Saturday morning stretching class is full again. Instead of checking the timetable every hour, she taps Tell me if a place frees up. On Friday evening somebody cancels, a message arrives, and Iryna books the place from her phone before anybody else does.

Step by step

1. Open the full class. On the Timetable, a class with no places left steps back into Not available, marked Full. Tap it to open it.
2. Tap Tell me if a place frees up. Grupy confirms You are on the list. The class now says We’ll tell you, and in Not available it is marked On the list. Not signed in yet? The button reads Sign in to be told when a place frees up.
3. Wait for the message. When somebody cancels, everybody on the list gets a message at the same moment — A place is free — the same way your reminders arrive, with an Open the class button. The app says it too: on Today and above the Timetable, a line reads A place came free, with the class, the time and first to book has it, and a Book it button.
4. Book it. The class opens; book it the usual way, with your pass (see Book a group class).
5. Leave the list if you no longer want the place: open the class and tap Leave the list. Grupy confirms You are off the list.

If somebody is faster

Nothing is held for anybody: the first person to book takes the place. If that was not you, the class says This class filled up while you were reading and Somebody took it first. You are still on the list for the next one. You do not need to do anything: when another place comes free, you will be told again.

Good to know

• The list is only for full classes. If a class has a place, book it.
• You can wait for up to five classes at one studio at a time. A sixth says You are already waiting for 5 classes here.
• Several cancellations close together send one message, not one each: a class tells its list at most once every ten minutes.
• Booking the class takes you off its list, and the list ends when the class starts. There is nothing to clear up.
• A place comes free whenever somebody cancels — even late, when they lose their session.
• Waiting costs nothing. Only booking uses a session.

Find your studio
