Messages to clients

Dmytro teaches yoga, and his Tuesday evening class has three people booked. It needs five to run. At lunchtime Grupy tells him the class is quiet, and he wants to ask the people who usually come — without typing the same message ten times.

  1. Pick who to write to. On People, tap the circle beside each person, or choose a group — Away 30+ days, say — and tap Pick all of these. A bar shows 3 picked; tap Message.
  2. Choose how it goes. Under Send by, Each their own sends it the way each person chose for their reminders: Telegram, WhatsApp or email. Email or Telegram sends it only that way. If some people cannot be reached like that — nobody’s Telegram, WhatsApp or confirmed email address — the sheet says so before you send: 2 people cannot be reached this way.
  3. Start from a template, or write your own. We miss you and Your pass is ending fill in the Subject and Message; A place is free is offered for a message about one class, from Invite the regulars. Change the words as you like.
  4. Tap Send to 3. The number is how many people it goes to.
  5. See who heard. The sheet says 3 heard and Everybody heard. — or 1 did not, with the name and the reason, such as Nowhere to write. Ring those people instead. Tap Done.

Under Needs you, Today suggests two messages by itself:

  • Stretching is quiet — fewer people are booked than the class needs to run. Invite the regulars writes to the people who have come to that class often in recent weeks, with A place is free ready and the class, its time and a link to book it filled in.
  • 4 passes are about to run out — passes ending this week with sessions still on them. Remind them writes to the people holding them, starting from Your pass is ending.
  • {user_name} becomes each person’s name and {location_name} your studio’s name.
  • {link} is always filled in: the class’s page when the message is about one class, your studio’s page otherwise.
  • {class} and {time} are filled in when the message is about one class, as from Invite the regulars. Anywhere else the message is not sent until you take them out or write the details in yourself — Grupy says so instead of sending the brackets.
  • Only owners can send these messages.
  • Grupy sends its everyday messages without you: reminders, booking confirmations, cancellations, a change of trainer, a place coming free, a pass bought or running out, and receipts. Clients choose where those arrive — see Reminders and where they arrive.
