Choreography styles taught in dance studios: high heels, jazz funk, contemporary, ballet for adults, jazz and frame up.

• High heels

  High heels, often just called heels, is choreography danced in high-heeled shoes.

• Jazz funk

  Jazz funk is a choreography style that mixes the lines and turns of jazz dance with the grooves of hip-hop and the attitude of music-video dancing.

• Contemporary

  Contemporary is a stage dance style that grew from modern dance and ballet in the 20th century and keeps changing today.

• Ballet for adults

  Ballet for adults is classical ballet taught to grown-ups, most of whom have never danced or are coming back after a long break.

• Jazz dance

  Jazz dance grew up in African American communities in the United States together with jazz music, and later became the dance of Broadway musicals, film and the stage.

• Frame up (strip plastic)

  Frame up is a choreography style known in Eastern Europe as strip plastic: a feminine, flowing dance built on body waves, smooth transitions, graceful arms and a lot of floor work.
